Wayne Arther Fast passed away on Sunday, January 30th 2022 at Via Christi St Francis Hospital in Wichita.  Wayne was born on March 12, 1942, in Caldwell, KS to Arthur & Pauline (Janzen) Fast.  He Married Beverly (Reimer) Fast on May 7, 1963.  They had 2 daughters, Shauna Raeh & Kerri Lin.

Wayne spent his younger years living in Medford, OK and Newton.  He always had a lot of stories to tell about working at the filling station on First Street & Kansas Avenue in Newton.  Wayne always had a good job and provided for his family well.

Wayne, affectionately known as Gramps, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren in the garage teaching them to use power tools and build things.  When it came to Independence Day, he was just another one of the kids. He was “Grandpa Wayne” to the neighborhood kids while living in Newton and the children at Hesston Community Childcare at Schowalter Villa.

Wayne & Bev enjoyed their travels to Alaska and Hawaii. They also enjoyed visiting New England in the Fall, visiting grandkids in Phoenix, and the bi-annual family vacation with their kids and grandkids to Pagosa Springs, CO.

Wayne loved the Lord and celebrated his baptism in 2019 with family and friends.  What a great day that was!

Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Fast; and sister, Marilyn Entz. Wayne is survived by his wife, Bev; daughter, Shauna Boyd, husband Darrin, grandkids Braden & Tara; and daughter, Kerri Hurd, husband Joel, grandson Daniel; and brother, Ken Fast. Also many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday,  Feb 5th, at 3pm at Hillcrest Community Foursquare Church, 531 W. 12th in Newton.
