Terry Lee Jenks, 68, died June 15, 2022, at his home. He was born July 9, 1953, in Hutchinson, to James E. and Clara M. (Barnes) Jenks.

Terry was a loving father and grandfather. His lifelong passion was music - owning his own music store / recording studio, “Paradise Sound”, and singing in the “Terry Jenks and The Chapel Singers.” Terry also owned “King’s Royal Imports” in the Hutchinson Mall, was a carpenter and a fireman, and enjoyed military history and old money. He was a lifelong member of Full Gospel Fellowship, which his parents started. He loved singing in the church and was proud of his sisters, Cora and Patty, taking over when his mother wasn’t able. Church, music, and family were his life.

On July 22, 1974, Terry married Lela M. Metzger, in Hutchinson. They later divorced but remained close friends.

He is survived by: his children, Heath Jenks of Hutchinson, Heather Streck and husband Ryan of Great Bend; grandchildren, Paige, Haley, Gracie Jenks, Cole Streck, Blake Streck; brother, Richard Jenks of Hutchinson; sister, Cora Stokely and husband Jerry of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, and wife Virginia; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Don Jenks; sister, Patty Widup and her husband, Harold; and stepfather, Dallas Kimzey.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. The service will be livestreamed and the link below to view it will be active beginning at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
