Home sales across the Mid-Kansas region slowed in June compared to a year ago, even as home prices continued to increase and properties sold quickly.
According to the latest housing market report, 146 homes were sold during June, down from 156 sales recorded in June 2025. Total sales volume also declined year-over-year, totaling $30.9 million.
Despite fewer sales, home values continued to trend upward. The median sale price reached $191,750 in June, an increase from $185,000 during the same month last year.

Homes that sold in June spent a median of just 15 days on the market, highlighting continued buyer demand. Sellers also continued to receive near full asking price, with homes selling for an average of 99.4 percent of their listed price.
Inventory showed modest improvement compared to last year. The Mid-Kansas region had 274 active residential listings at the end of June, up from 260 active listings one year earlier. Even with the increase, the market remained relatively tight with a 2.3-month supply of homes available for sale.
The median list price of homes on the market at the end of June was $228,450.
Buyer activity also slowed during the month. Realtors reported 129 new contracts written in June, compared to 156 contracts during June 2025. However, pending sales remained steady, with 160 homes under contract at the close of the month, indicating continued activity heading into the summer selling season.
While overall sales volume softened from last year, rising home prices, fast-selling properties and limited inventory continue to characterize the Mid-Kansas housing market.
