HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Temporary traffic signals have been installed along Main Street in preparation for the upcoming Kansas State Fair.
The City of Hutchinson installed the signals at the intersections of 20th Avenue and Main Street and 23rd Avenue and Main Street. The lights will help manage increased traffic and possible congestion during the fair, which runs Sept. 11-20.
The temporary signals will flash red in all directions for the next week, requiring drivers to treat each intersection as a four-way stop. They will begin normal operation Wednesday, Sept. 9, and remain in use through Monday, Sept. 21.
