HESSTON, Kan. — Central Christian School left no doubt at the Wheat State League/Heart of the Plains League boys golf championship Tuesday, cruising to a commanding team victory at Hesston Golf Course with a score of 318, 79 strokes ahead of runner-up Goessel.

Ry Kooiman led the charge for the Cougars, firing an even-par 71 to win the individual title. Cael Kooiman, finished third with a 79, while teammates Nathan Reed (83), Tyler Reed (85), and Brody Froese (89) all placed inside the top 10.

The Cougars had all six golfers finish among the top 13, including Tarren Scripsick, who shot a 99. Their dominant showing easily outpaced the field, with Goessel (397) and Solomon (417) rounding out the top three.

Easton Glessner of Centre took second individually with a 78, while Goessel’s Levi Schrag placed fourth at 80.

Solomon’s Breken Coup (93) and Canton-Galva’s Jase Beltz (91) also cracked the top 10, as did Pretty Prairie’s Braden Woods (94).
