HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Cosmosphere is starting something special for kids this Saturday.
"Second Saturday is a blast from the more distant past," said Mimi Meredith with Cosmosphere. "It focuses on guided tours and we are adding in the element of Storytime in CosmoKids."
Reno County parents and their children who frequented Bluebird Books story time on Saturdays prior to the bookstore closing, will be glad to hear “Miss Dell” (Dell Swearer) is back and at the Cosmosphere!
"It will be something that is appropriate for children ages 2 to 7," Meredith said. "It will be about space and exploration and more importantly, it will be brought to life in the way only Dell Swearer can do it."
Storytime will be from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in CosmoKids. Guided tours of Cosmosphere’s Hall of Space Museum will also be available on Second Saturday.
"It will be every month," Meredith said. "We'll have the volunteer-led tours every Second Saturday, as well as storytime in CosmoKids."
Tours will begin in the lobby at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
