STERLING, Kan. &mdash; Sydney Schrant of Cheney fired an 81 (+10) to claim individual medalist honors at the Black Bear Golf Invitational on Monday at Sterling Country Club, where par was set at 71. Schrant&rsquo;s steady round helped lead Cheney to the team title with a combined score of 61-over-par.
&nbsp;
Sterling finished third as a team at +92, paced by Cameron Morris, who posted an 83 (+12) to place third overall. Lane Weigel (+24), Wyatt Newberry (+27), and Waylon Schmidt (+29) rounded out the scoring for the Black Bears on their home course.
&nbsp;
Halstead placed fourth at +98, with Wesley Parks shooting 93 (+22) to lead the Dragons. Jacob Rose (+23), Maxx Linton (+26), Lance Anderson (+27), and Harrison Wilson (+28) provided additional solid rounds.
&nbsp;
Lyons took sixth at +109. Easten Benevidez led the Lions with a 97 (+26), followed closely by Noah Geeves (+27), Elijah Lyon (+28), Landon Ankerholz (+28), and Lucas Timberlake (+41).
&nbsp;
Inman finished eighth at +136, paced by Creighton Friesen (+29), Braeden Stutzman (+30), and Brett Jerrick (+36). Nickerson rounded out the team standings in ninth at +151, led by Addrick Nelson (+35).
&nbsp;
Ellinwood&rsquo;s Luke Heinz placed second individually with an 82 (+11), and Cheney&rsquo;s Kooper Williams (+13) and Grady Ditgen (+16) also cracked the top 10.</div>
