Reuben “Paul” Yutzy, 86, of South Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Mennonite Friendship Communities. He was born June 2, 1934 in Elbert County, Colorado, the son of Reuben J. and Catherine M. (Troyer) Yutzy.

After his marriage, Paul was employed at Y&S Trucking and later worked alongside his two brothers at YB Meats in Yoder. Paul later worked for Kauffman Seeds, retiring in 2001.

He was united in marriage to Pauline Kauffman on April 13, 1963 in Yoder, Kansas. They enjoyed almost 58 years of marriage together. One of his favorite memories was when the whole family went on a cruise for their 50th anniversary.

Paul was a member of Yoder Mennonite Church and later Journey Mennonite Church. He was a charter member of the Kansas Mennonite Men’s Chorus and loved to sing, until his health could no longer allow it. 

Paul enjoyed working in his shop, tending to the garden and flowers with his wife, family vacations to the mountains, and above all, spending time with his family. 

Paul was also survived by his three children, Karla (Leland) Headings of Hutchinson, Brian (Tammy) Yutzy of Hutchinson and Eric (Kim) Yutzy of Yoder; six grandchildren, Nicole Headings, Brandon Yutzy, Abigail Yutzy, Emily Yutzy, Kristen Headings and Sara Yutzy; sister-in-law, Anna Ruth Yutzy of Yoder; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters, Bertha Campbell, Mary Ebersole, Gladys Bowman, Ada Robertson, Stella Reber, and Erma Sullivan; and four brothers, Clarence, Mahlon, Ivan and Gilbert Yutzy.

Cremation is planned with private family services. Memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Friendship Communities or Central Christian Schools in care of Ott Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Haven, KS 67543.
