Shooting results in Tuesday night arrest in Hutchinson

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A Hutchinson man was arrested on attempted murder charges Tuesday night.

At 9:35 p.m. Tuesday, officers with the Hutchinson Police Department were dispatched to 623 East Avenue F in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived, they located 37-year-old Bryan Stallworth with a single gunshot wound to his chest. Stallworth was later transferred to a Wichita area hospital in stable condition.

The investigation revealed that the shooting occurred at 620 East Avenue F, and was the result of an altercation between Stallworth and an acquaintance, 31-year-old Levi Wickliffe. Wickliffe fled the scene and was located by officers several blocks away.

Wickliffe was arrested for attempted 2nd degree intentional murder and is in custody at the Reno County Jail.
