Deere and Co. has filed an answer to the Federal Trade Commission’s lawsuit.
That's the lawsuit that alleged they have a monopoly over its repair services. The lawyers who are defending John Deere in federal court deny the allegations and say that it's nothing more than technological advancements.
Farmers say that it creates headaches for those who want to fix their own tractors. Deere does offer a different repair tool to customers and independent repair shops.
The FTC claims that version is inferior to the one available to authorized dealers and is allegedly incapable of doing all repairs on Deere equipment.
