Wendy Guadalupe Contreras, 43, of Lyons, Kansas, passed away February 12, 2022 at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka, Kansas.
She was born January 9, 1979, Chihuahua, Mexico, the daughter of Pedro Delgado and Maricela Contreras. Wendy graduated from Federal 18 High School in Chihuahua, Mexico. She has resided in Lyons for the past twelve years, formerly of Arlington, Texas. Wendy was a homemaker and housekeeper. She enjoyed FaceBook, Tiktok, cooking, arts and crafts, and most of all spending time with her family. Wendy loved to laugh and tell jokes.
She is survived by her mother, Maricela Contreras of Chihuahua, Mexico; significant other, Agustin Salgado of Lyons; two sons, Oscar Castañeda and Brian Castañeda both of Ponca City, OK; daughter, Sophia Salgado of Lyons; brother, Manuel Oroczo of Chihuahua, Mexico; sister, Aracely Murga of Phoenix, AZ; and grandson, Ezekiel Castañeda. Wendy was preceded in death by her father, Pedro Delgado.
A private family service will be held at Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons, with Father Michael Brungardt officiating. Burial will be at Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Memorials may be made out to Agustin Salgado (for Sophia’s Education Fund) in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Lyons.
