LENEXA, Kan. — The Buhler High School swim & dive team placed 8th at the class 5-1A state meet held at the Shawnee Mission School District Aquatic Center.
This is the highest finish the team has ever had at the state meet, per head coach Shane DeWeese.
The 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Hudson DeWeese, Jonah Gardner, Payton Frees and Marshall Birney set a new school record and finished 5th with a time of 1:43.90.
DeWeese finished 8th in the 200 Yard IM, setting a school record with a time of 2:07.97 in the prelims. Isaak Neighbor finished 12th.
Scott Schweizer finished 11th in diving with a score of 279.65 in the finals.
The 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team of DeWeese, Gardner, Frees and Birney set a new school record and finished 6th with a time of 1:31.51.
Gardner finished 6th in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, setting a new school record of 1:03.13.
The 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of DeWeese, Gardner, Frees and Birney set a new school record of 3:26.57.
