Catherine E. Blasi, 97, died June 8, 2021 at Kingman.
She was born Jan. 6, 1924, at Willowdale, Kansas the daughter of Edward and Leona Miller Kanngiesser. A lifetime resident of the Willowdale and Zenda communities, she was the retired co-owner and operator of Blasi Service Station.
Catherine was a member of the St. John Catholic Church and the Altar Society, both of Zenda.
On Oct. 17, 1944, she married Ernest J. “Jack” Blasi at Zenda; he died Oct. 4, 2003. Survivors include sons Robert, Rodney, Leroy and Norbert; daughters Jean Fairchild, Margie Islas, Diana Newman, Janet Kaiser, Nancy Blasi and Sandra McTier; brothers Ed and Lawrence Kanngiesser; sisters Helen Vierthaler, Ruth Mantooth, Mary Bayer and Carolyn Kimminau; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by daughter Suzette Kring; son John Blasi; and sister Joyce Vierthaler.
Parish rosary will be 5:00 p.m., Sunday at the Livingston Funeral Home, Kingman. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until rosary time at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Monday at the St. John Catholic Church, Zenda. Burial will be in the St. John Catholic Cemetery.
