Kan. deputies find 50 pounds of meth worth $375K

SHAWNEE COUNTY –Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect after finding 50 pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop.

Just before 10a.m. Thursday deputies conducted a traffic stop on a silver minivan at Interstate 70 and SE California Avenue, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.

During the investigation, deputies deployed a K9 that helped them locate illegal narcotics including approximately 50 pounds of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $375,000. 

They also arrested a 57-year-old man on requested charges of distribution of methamphetamine.   Authorities did not release the suspect's name.
