Winners in 4 of its last 5 matches, the surging Hutchinson Community College volleyball team found its way into the NJCAA Division I Volleyball rankings for the first time in three seasons on Monday.
The Blue Dragons (12-8) are ranked No. 20 in the latest NJCAA rankings, one of four Jayhawk Conference teams to be ranked.

This is the first time the Blue Dragons have been ranked since the 2023 preseason rankings when Hutchinson was ranked No. 18. That team immediately fell out of the rankings. This is the first time the Dragons have been ranked in a regular-season poll since October 17, 2022 when they were No. 20. The 2022 Blue Dragons were ranked as high as No. 13 in that season.
The 2026 Blue Dragons have built a good resume to jump into the national rankings. The Dragons have two Top 20 victories – No. 16 Indian Hills and No. 10 Dodge City – and took No. 8 Colby to five sets one week ago.
Hutchinson plays host to Pratt on Wednesday and travels to Garden City on Saturday.
Defending national champion Miami Dade remains No. 1. Weatherford College moved up to No. 2 this week.
Other Blue Dragon opponents in the current rankings are Tyler at No. 6, Colby at No. 7, Panola at No. 10, Dodge City at No. 14, Trinity Valley at No. 15 and Northeastern Junior College at No. 19. Future opponent Barton is No. 18.
