HUTCHINSON, Kan. —&nbsp;The USD 308 Board of Education and HNEA met on August 24, 2021 to hold a seventh negotiations session to exchange information and responses to the session held on August 11, 2021.

The negotiations meeting began at 4:00 p.m. and ended around 6:00 p.m. 

After much negotiations, the USD 308 Board of Education and HNEA declared joint impasse over two items: salary schedule and language related to a new article titled “Discipline and Suspension of Members.” 

Impasse documentation has been submitted to the Department of Labor, and next steps will include the assignment of a mediator to assist both sides in coming to agreement.
