HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The USD 308 Board of Education will look at a grant request through the Safe & Secure Schools Grant from the Kansas State Department of Education at its meeting Monday.
The district is requesting $225,000 through this grant. The funds will be used for intruder resistant glass in the nine buildings that don’t currently have it in place.
They are also requesting additional security cameras and door access controls. The grant funds have a $1 to $1 local match requirement.
Also on the agenda, the Board will adopt its English and Language Arts curriculum and World Language curriculum, make an amendment to the school year calendar for the upcoming year, sign the memorandums of understanding with the various groups connected with Reno County Head Start, approve the purchase of a rooftop HVAC unit for the Technology Support Center at a cost of $24,392 and renew its worker's compensation insurance.
The USD 308 Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the school district offices at 1520 North Plum.
