Zerger Field will remain closed and locked during the ongoing turf replacement project, with only very limited access permitted at this time for PAC students to use the playground under specific conditions.
According to school officials, the next phase of the project involves rebuilding the field’s base and ensuring the grade is exact before new turf and rubber pellets are installed. Crews will use laser-guided leveling technology to precisely prepare the surface. Any use of the field during this stage could disrupt the ground and compromise the accuracy of the grading process.

As part of the construction safety plan, the north gates at Zerger Field are now locked. PAC students who are dropped off by parents on Third Street will need to walk around using the sidewalk along Taylor Avenue. School officials emphasized that students should not walk through the construction area due to the presence of heavy equipment.
Access to the playground will be limited and determined on a week-to-week basis, depending on construction activity. When playground access is allowed, PAC students will be required to enter through the Band gate and follow the sidewalk route around to the playground area.
Officials say the project remains on schedule, and by the middle of February, students are expected to return to a newly resurfaced field with brand-new turf.
