
RENO COUNTY, Kan. — A pedestrian was killed Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a train in eastern Reno County.
According to the Reno County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 3:38 p.m. Aug. 18 to a train-pedestrian collision on Rayl Road, just north of U.S. Highway 50.
The Kansas Highway Patrol and Burton Fire/EMS also responded to the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office said investigators determined the pedestrian stepped in front of the train. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the person was not released.
The Reno County Sheriff’s Office offered condolences to the family and said no additional information regarding the incident will be released.
