Hester Viola Watson |1929-2021|

Hester Viola Watson, 92, passed away December 22, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.  She was born March 6, 1929, in Hutchinson, to Adele and Elizabeth (Goertzen) Johnson.

Hester was a 1948 graduate of Hutchinson High School.  She worked in the warehouse at Dillons for over 15 years.  Hester enjoyed drawing, camping, and participating in the activities at the Senior Center at Elmdale.  She was a member of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) and a longtime member of Faith United Methodist Church, Hutchinson.  

On February 25, 1973, Hester married Darrell Woodard Watson.  They shared over 33 years of marriage, prior to his death on April 12, 2006.

She is survived by:  her children, Erwin (Sue) Guy and Kay (John) Miller, both of Hutchinson; stepdaughters, Connie Watson and Crista Bushell, both of Sandpoint, ID; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Hester was preceded in death by:  her parents; husband, Darrell Watson; brother, Chester Johnson; and father of Erwin and Kay, Cecil Guy.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary, with The Reverend Larry Brock officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.  Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2021, at Elliott Mortuary.
