START UP HUTCH
StartUp Hutch, Reno County’s leading advocate for entrepreneurs and small businesses, has named Graham Klemme as its new Executive Director. Klemme brings a wealth of national experience in early-stage entrepreneurship, community building, and innovation to the organization.
Originally from Iowa City, Iowa, Klemme’s career spans roles with tech giants and startup accelerators including Airbnb, Fiverr, Engine Advocacy, Builders + Backers, and BioMADE. He has also advised programs at Techstars, Laminar Scientific, and the iconic South by Southwest (SXSW) conference. Most recently, he co-founded Approval Screen, an AI-driven commercial mortgage servicing startup based in New Hampshire.
“StartUp Hutch’s mission deeply resonates with me,” said Klemme. “This is a place where relationships matter, where creativity is welcomed, and where there’s real momentum around small business. I’m excited to roll up my sleeves and help entrepreneurs across Reno County thrive.”
In his new role, Klemme will lead StartUp Hutch’s work to inspire, educate, and connect entrepreneurs—driving local innovation and economic growth. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Iowa and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Beyond his entrepreneurial work, Klemme is a longtime supporter of the arts and currently serves on the board of Public Space One, a nonprofit arts organization.
“We are thrilled to welcome Graham to Hutchinson,” said Johannah Moore, board chair of StartUp Hutch. “His experience and energy are a perfect fit for our community. He understands what it takes to help early-stage businesses succeed and brings a fresh perspective on how we can grow our local ecosystem.”
