Shirley Jean Huston, 82, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Legends of Hutchinson. She was born June 23, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of James W. and Thelma I. (Birkes) Lambert.
She graduated from Haven High School with the class of 1957.
Shirley was a member of the Medora Community Bible Church and a former member of the Haven Baptist Church.
She was united in marriage to Jerry Michael Huston on March 14, 1959 in Haven, Kansas.
She was a devoted homemaker and a very proud grandparent.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Jerry of Hutchinson; sons, Doug (Mercy) Huston of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Tracy (Vicki) Huston of Hutchinson; daughter, Kimberly (Russ) Goering of Mustang, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Katie (Brad) Stohr, Amy (Joe) Ackerman, Shawn Huston, Haley (Eli) Heidebrecht, Jason Huston, Rachel (Jonathan) Hollingsworth, Angelica Huston, Kenton Goering and Kevin Goering; twelve great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Pauline Sechrist of Holden, Missouri, and Sharon (Larry) Gilder of Lenexa.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Medora Community Bible Church. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, at Ott Funeral Home, Haven.
