HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Monthly infusions made from blood products help keep 28-year-old McCartney Johnson alive.
McCartney was diagnosed in infancy with hypogammaglobulinemia, an immune disorder that prevents his body from making enough antibodies. He can only get them from volunteer donors. McCartney lives every day to the fullest and is always grateful to those who give blood. Celebrate life with McCartney and donate at the annual blood drive held in his honor.
WHEN: Saturday, Oct. 12, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WHERE: Holy Cross Catholic School at 2633 Independence Road, Hutchinson.
This October, to encourage donors to fall into the habit of donating, the Red Cross is saying thank you with a $10 Amazon Gift Card. You'll also be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $5000 gift card. Find out more online.
