Fair Price Store announces funds distribution

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Fair Price Store at 15 West B that is operated by the Methodist Churches in Reno County has decided on its distribution of funds for 2025

According to board member Nancy Murphy, $500 each will be given to:
• Cause for Paws
• Hutchinson Street Cat Society
• Sleep Tight
• Clothed in Compassion.

The group also will give $750 to Bread and cup. 

$1,000 will go to each of these organizations:
• Circles of Hope
• Hutchinson Meals on Wheels
• Friendship Meals
• Christian Soup Ministries
• Bright House
• Interfaith Housing
• Loads of Laundry (Busy Bee)
• Hospice and Homecare of Reno County
• Reins of Hope
• Salvation Army
• Cancer Council of Reno County
• Special Olympics Hutch Hawks
• Birthright

$2,000 will go toe each of these organizations:
• First Call for Help
• Reno County Food Bank

$6,000 will go to Salt Hawk Community Support 

The Fair Price Store total giving was $41,750.

The Fair Price Store is located at 15 West B and is open every Wednesday and Friday 9-3 and on Saturday morning 9-12.

The following churches volunteer to manage the store.  Each church received $2,000: 
• First United Methodist Church 
•Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church 
• Faith United Methodist Church 
• Nickerson United Methodist Church 
• Trinity United Methodist Church 
• Haven United Methodist Church 
• South Hutchinson United Methodist Church
• Mitchell Chapel United Methodist Church 

The store is totally dependent on donations, and you can bring them by during the store's open hours. 

Each final Friday and Saturday of the month is a bag sale where you can fill a paper bag for just $4.
