10 a.m. update:
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 14-year-old male was injured in a shooting Wednesday night near Hobart-Detter Field in Carey Park, and a 16-year-old suspect has been arrested.
According to the Hutchinson Police Department, officers, along with the Hutchinson Fire Department and Reno County EMS, were dispatched at 8:21 p.m. on May 13 to the river area near Hobart-Detter Field on a report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located the 14-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers immediately began rendering first aid until EMS personnel arrived at the scene.
The juvenile was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for initial treatment before later being transferred to a Wichita hospital for additional care. Police said the victim is currently listed in stable condition.
During the investigation, officers took a 16-year-old male into custody. The juvenile was transported to the Reno County Youth Services detention facility on allegations of aggravated battery, unlawful discharge of a firearm, criminal use of a weapon and possession of THC.
The investigation remains ongoing.

Police also reminded the public that all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday evening at Carey Park.
According to Capt. Dayton Gates with the Hutchinson Police Department, one person was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound. The victim’s condition has not been released.
Police said the investigation remains in its early stages, and additional details have not yet been made available.
Authorities have not released information about a suspect or what may have led to the shooting.
