KIOWA COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 8a.m. Wednesday in Kiowa County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Nissan Xterra driven by Austin R. Alstatt, 41, Pratt, was eastbound on U.S. 54 at the U.S. 400 Junction.

The Nissan crossed the centerline and collided with a westbound&nbsp; 2008 Peterbilt semi driven by Bert M. Ecton, 72, Derby.

EMS transported&nbsp; Alstatt to Wesley Medical Center.&nbsp;Ecton was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
