HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Teachers in USD 308 will vote on their new contract this week.
"The teacher's association, they're going to meet on Friday," said USD 308 Superintendent Mike Folks. "Staff will have an opportunity to vote on the package that was verbally agreed upon."
Assuming that is ratified, then things will turn around fast.
"I'm hoping that Monday night at our board meeting on the 22nd of November, we can ratify with our teachers association," Folks said. "We already have it tentatively on our agenda waiting for the notification and one thing, it's not just our HNEA members that get a vote, it's anyone that is covered by the negotiated agreement are certified staff. Everyone gets to vote on that package."
Once ratification happens, then the new pay scale will be prorated over the remaining time in the contract year.
