HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Inman Ground Hog Feed at St. Peter's United Church of Christ is sticking with drive-through this year.
"We're doing drive through again this year," said Rev. Dennis Ureche with the church. "You can preorder your sausage if you like at (620) 585-2627 to preorder sausage and sauerkraut."
COVID-19 forced the change a couple of years ago and it has helped the fundraiser be more efficient.
"We're getting older and it's getting harder to get enough people to pull the dinner off," Ureche said. "It's also the COVID thing. We weren't certain that a lot of people would want to come out to a big dinner."
The money goes for mission projects within Inman.
"It's gone for the live nativity," Ureche said. "The community building, when we built the community building, money went towards that. We've also helped with pancake benefits with the Lions Club. The church gives donations to that. Those are some of the things that the money has gone towards."
Pickup for the one-pound packages of sausage and one quart containers of sauerkraut is from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, February 7 with curbside pickup only at the Harvey Street entrance to the St. Peter's fellowship hall.
The sausage is $5 per pound for less than ten pounds and $4 per pound for ten pounds or more, but you need to preorder, so they know how much to make.
