EDMOND, Oklahoma – Sophomore Hugo Duquaine started his final round of the Skip Wagnon Invitational with an eagle on Tuesday.
Duquaine finished as the Blue Dragons' low score and helped the NJCAA top-ranked Blue Dragons place fifth in the 18-team NCAA Division II Tournament at Kickingbird Golf Club.
The Blue Dragons shot a 4-under 276 on the Par-70 course Tuesday to close at 16-under 824 over 54 holes.
Central Oklahoma won its home tournament at 40-under 800 after closing with a 278 on Tuesday. Oklahoma Christian shot a 266 on Tuesday and closed to within seven stokes of UCO at 807.
Duquaine was the only Blue Dragon to finish in the Top 10 individually. Duquaine shot a 4-under 66 on Tuesday with an eagle, six birdies, two bogeys and one double bogey in his final round. Duquaine closed at 10-under 200.
Freshman Charlie Rusbridge shot under par for a third-straight tournament with a 4-under 206. Rusbridge shot an even-par 70 in the final round and tied for 24th.
Sophomore Grant Hatzenbuehler tied for 35th at 1-under 209 after carding a 1-under 69 on Tuesday.
Freshman Grant Labuschagne fired a 73 on Tuesday and tied for 46th at 1-over 211.
Freshman Harry Richmond shot a tournament-low 71 on Tuesday and finished tied for 64th at 6-over 216.
The Blue Dragons will play in another NCAA Division II field next Monday and Tuesday at the Ryan Palmer Classic in Amarillo.
