Police arrest 3 after shooting outside Kansas nightclub

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital.

Just after 2:30a.m. Sunday, police responded to report of a shooting at a nightclub in the 400 Block of South Hydraulic in Wichita, according to Officer Charley Davidson.

At the scene, police found a 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound. EMS transported him to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators learned that a disturbance occurred at the business between 38-year-old Tiefa Miller and 31-year-old Makala Day, according to Davidson. The disturbance continued out into the parking lot and grew involving multiple individuals and multiple shots were fired injuring the 22-year-old.

Officers located a handgun and shell casings in the parking lot of the business.

During the investigation, police stopped Miller and 47-year-old Jerry Minor leaving the business in a vehicle. Police found drugs in their vehicle and arrested Minor on requested charges of distributing hallucinogenics and possession of drug paraphernalia. They arrested Miller for possession of marijuana. Officers arrested Day at the scene and booked her on outstanding warrants, according to Davidson.

Police have not indicated if the three are suspects in the shooting.
