HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Police Chief Jeff Hooper said the open house to show off the new department went well Tuesday.
"At times, we had as many as seven tours at once," Hooper said. "It was a fun day."
He added that all the work is done and the department is completely moved in.
"This is not my police department or the officer's police department, it's the community's police department," Hooper said. "It's a safe place, a place where they can come and get help and not a place to be intimidated by."
Between 100 and 200 people attended, but they don't have a specific head count because of how busy the event was.
