John William Gingerich, 73, passed away March 4, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society-Hutchinson Village. He was born June 1, 1948, in Hutchinson, to Merl M. and Barbara J. (Williams) Gingerich.
John was a 1967 graduate of Hutchinson High School. He worked at Lowens Corporation for over 25 years racking signs in the inventory department. John also worked and participated in various TECH activities.
He was avid supporter of the Hutchinson Community College athletic teams and activities. John was a member of Kiwanis Aktion Club, Hutchinson, and Westside Baptist Church, Hutchinson, where he enthusiastically volunteered as a church parking lot attendant.
He is survived by: his brother, Mike (Sonja) Gingerich of Hutchinson; nephew, Jeff (Amy) Gingerich of Frisco, TX; great-nephews, Ryan Decker, Justin Decker, Brendan Lajza, and Kai Gingerich; and great-niece, Poppy Gingerich; and numerous cousins.
John was preceded in death by: his parents; niece, Brenda Barker; and great-nephew, Aaron Decker.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Tim Adrian officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to service time on Saturday, with the family present on Saturday.
