Hutchinson Community College sophomore Isabell Van Fleet was named the NJCAA Division I Women's Soccer National Player of the Week for the second time this season, the national office released on Wednesday.
Van Fleet, a sophomore forward from Topeka, led the Blue Dragons to a pair of convincing victories to close the regular season last week with 11 points combined in the two games.
Van Fleet also won national player of the week honors on September 30. She is the first Blue Dragon player to win the award more than once in the same season.
Van Fleet posted her first career hat trick in Hutchinson's 4-1 victory over Garden City on Sophomore night in Hutchinson last Wednesday. Van Fleet scored all three goals in the first half.
She followed that with a pair of goals and an assist in a 6-0 victory at Coffeyville on Saturday.
For the week, Van Fleet scored five goals and had one assist for an 11-point week, the most points scored in a single week in her Blue Dragon career.
Van Fleet now has a team-high 14 goals, five assists and 33 points.
The Blue Dragon sophomore also became the 21st player in Blue Dragon women's soccer history to score 20 or more career goals.
Van Fleet and the Blue Dragons open the Region 6 Tournament at home with a 6 p.m. Friday matchup against Barton at the Salthawk Soccer Complex.
