PRATT COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 9a.m. Tuesday in Pratt County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2022 International semi driven by William Arthur Johnson, 40, Houston, Texas and a 2000 Freightliner semi driven by Steven Bradley Hazen, 66, Protection, Kansas, were both eastbound on U.S. 54 one half mile east of SW 50th Avenue.
Both vehicles entered the passing lanes with International in front of Freightliner.
The International semi did not move over to the right lane. The Freightliner then moved to the right lane and began to pass International
At some point while passing, the International came into contact with the trailer of Freightliner. This contact caused the International semi to enter the north ditch and overturn.
EMS transported Johnson to the hospital in Pratt. Hazen was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
