⛳ Circle edges Buhler for AVCTL-III title; McPherson’s Cole Cooper wins individual title

DERBY, Kan. — Circle claimed the Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League Division III boys golf championship Tuesday at Derby Golf & Country Club, edging Buhler by two strokes.

The T-Birds carded a team total of 327 to narrowly finish ahead of Buhler at 329. McPherson placed third with a 343, followed by Augusta (344), Winfield (349) and Mulvane (350).

McPherson’s Cole Cooper captured the individual crown, firing a 76 to top the field. Buhler’s Zach Chance and Circle’s Anderson Helmer tied for second with rounds of 78.

Buhler had three golfers finish in the top 15, including Drew DeMeyer, who tied for fourth with a 79, and brothers Nick and Zach Chance, who posted rounds of 86 and 78, respectively. Isaiah Heredia added an 86 for the Crusaders, and Jace Heimerman rounded out the team score with a 90.

McPherson’s Lawson Ediger tied for 13th with an 86, and Paxton Ingels contributed a 90 for the Bullpups, who had four players finish in the top 25.

Circle placed three golfers in the top 10, Helmer (78), Logan Martin (79), and Kolton Parrish (85), while Wyatt Sharp added an 85 to help secure the team title.
