HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds used as strong second half to down the Barton Community College Cougars 103-90 in game two Saturday afternoon at the Sports Arena.
The teams played a tight first half as the Thunderbirds lead the Cougars 40-36 at the break.
The Thunderbirds' were led by sophomore R.J. Nance had 23 points, Delan Muin added 18, Ladiji Coulibaly had 15. Michael Mackey also was in double figures with 10.
The Cougars had five players in double figures led by Noah Willams with 23.
Barton's season ends at 24-10.
New Mexico advances to play second seeded College of Southern Idaho at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
