HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Two polling sites are being moved in Reno County for the approaching election.
Because of the pandemic and testing, the site at Mennonite Friendship Communities has been moved to the South Hutchinson Community Building. Applications for mail-in or advance ballots have been distributed to residents at the retirement community.
The second is the St. Joseph Parish in the small community of St. Joseph near Cheney Reservoir. That voting site has been moved to the Rural Fire District 9 building just down the street.
As of Wednesday morning, 5,003 ballots have been cast ahead of the election in Reno County and another 6,917 have been returned by mail — 9,103 ballots were mailed out.
The County Clerk's office in the annex will be open for advance voting again Thursday evening until 7 p.m.
