Fresh off his first career victory, Hutchinson Community College men's cross country runner Cornelius Kogo was named the KJCCC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Tuesday.
Kogo won the season-opening Terry Masterson Twilight Classic on Friday night at Fun Valley. The sophomore from Eldoret, Kenya led the No. 4-ranked Blue Dragon men to a 1-2-3-4 finish as Hutchinson captured the team title for the second time in meet history.
Kogo crossed the finish line with a winning time of 20:04.10, the 13th-fastest time in Masterson Twilight history.
Blue Dragon Cross Country swept the Week 2 KJCCC weekly honors. Teammate Mildred Rono won the Terry Masterson Twilight women's title and was also named KJCCC Women's Runner of the Week.
