🏀 Balanced attack leads Blue Dragons to season-opening win

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The No. 15-ranked Hutchinson Community College men's basketball team opened the season with a 104-53 win over Hesston College on Tuesday at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.

The win marked the first victory for first-year head coach Kyle Fisher.

All 11 players that played for Hutchinson (1-0) scored in the win, led by Bobby Cannon with 15 points and eight rebounds. Mikhail Abdul-Hamid, DJ Dudley and Bo Aldridge each had 14 points, while Khalil Arnold finished with 10 points.

Kobe Smith, the lone returner from last season, finished with seven points and a team-high 10 rebounds, while dishing off a team-high seven assists.

The Blue Dragons dominated the glass, out rebounding the Larks, 58-31, including 16 offensive rebounds. 

Hutchinson turned the ball over just seven times in the win.

The Blue Dragons will face Southwestern Christian in the BSN Sports Tipoff Classic on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Hutchinson Sports Arena.
