HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Monarchs outslugged the Great Bend Bat Cats Tuesday night at Hobart-Detter 13-6.
Though the offense will get most of the credit with five Monarchs with at least two hits, special mention should be given to the Hutchinson bullpen, as they stopped the bleeding after Kaden Wickersham was only able to last two and two-thirds innings, he was picked up by eventual winner Brent Herrmann, Noah Kelley and Reed Scott. Kelley and Scott between them went four innings without giving up a hit.
The Monarchs are now 14-5.
The series concludes Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at Hobart Detter Field.
