Donna Wygle |1941-2021|

Donna Hertlein Wygle, 79, passed from this life on October 6, 2021, at Ardmore, OK. She was born December 5, 1941, in Pratt, as the daughter of George and Myrland Hertlein. Along with her sister, Barbara, she grew up on the family’s wheat farm south of Pratt. She graduated from Pratt High School in 1959. After attending numerous secondary schools, she began working as an LPN. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital of Medical Technology in 1969. She then managed the hospital laboratories in Las Animas, CO, and in Tribune.
When their parents reached their elderly years, the sisters alternated their care. After their death, Donna moved back to the farm and has now passed her portion down to the fifth generation. Donna was an avid reader and historian spending many hours searching genealogical records for her family’s history. Other major interests included both science and world history.
She was a lover of animals and had 3 cats which she loved dearly. In 2016, Donna purchased an older farm homestead with a vision, along with her friend/associate, of turning it into a hobby ranch which would include various animals, a small lake and a multitude of farm antiques. Donna had a love for the outdoors, enjoying gardening and special projects to enhance the farm. She was a faithful and active member of the Pratt Garden Club.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara Butler and husband Harold of Ardmore, OK; nieces, Amy Walker of Ardmore and Kristen Scoggin and husband Steve of Dallas, TX; Great-Nieces and Nephews, Blake Woerz. Lauren Woerz, Brooke Scoggin and Jack Scoggin along with numerous cousins and special friend, Kelly Nienke.
Donna’s cousin, Ray Dorsett, will be officiating a memorial service at Donna’s farm home at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021. Cremation has taken place and a private family inurnment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Pratt.
