Release from Fox Theatre

HUTCHINSON, Kan. —After two weekends of soft-openings, Hutchinson’s Fox Theatre is back in the weekend movie business and planning on concerts, too.

This weekend The Way I See It features former Hutchinson News photographer Pete Souza’s career as the former Chief Official White House Photographer for Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama. The film is wrapped around Souza’s total access and top clearances to the President of the United States. News fans are no doubt familiar with the amazing historic imagery Souza pieced together. Fans will enjoy his work on the big screen, with the best popcorn in town, Friday & Saturday, October 9th & 10th, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 11th at 2:00 p.m.

Interrupting weekend movies at the Fox is the return of live music to the theatre’s stage after just over seven months. Riders in the Sky are coming to Hutchinson’s Fox, Friday, November 6th for two shows, at 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The Riders agreed to the two-show concept to help us with social distancing within the theater and because after 40 years they love to play! What began as a celebration of classic Western Music and an evening of hilarity has become a legend, which after 40 years, shows no signs of slowing down. Riders in the Sky have an astonishing 7,200+ appearances, including 35 years on the Grand Ole Opry, 40 record albums and tours of all 50 states and all over the world.

Here is what will change to make visiting the Fox a safe and enjoyable evening for fans. Fox personnel are limiting movie seating by closing half of the rows. Concerts are limited to 400 seats a show. We’re asking that ticket holders to the original 8:00 p.m. Riders show come to the 9:00 p.m. show or call and exchange tickets for the 6:00 p.m. show. In order to achieve appropriate social distancing, Fox ushers will seat you as you arrive. We ask for your understanding as it is unlikely you will be seated in the reserved seat of your purchase. The Fox remains a mask mandatory venue to ensure safety for all. If you forgot your mask at home, they will be available at the door. You are asked to respect social distancing, including while in lines for tickets, concessions, restrooms and within the lobby. The changes are for the safety of everyone in the Fox and so we can slowly but surely reopen. You are the key.

Tickets for The Way I See It are available at the door 45 minutes before the film. Tickets to Riders in the Sky are available at the Fox Box Office or by calling 1-877-FOX-SHOW, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on-line at www.hutchinsonfox.com. Riders in the Sky is generously sponsored by Kraft Electric, The Hutchinson News and Steve and Angel Dillon.
