Frida “Fridl” Schneider, 88, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021. She was born February 23, 1933, in Frommern, Germany, to Johaness and Frida (Stroble) Zimmerman, Sr.
Fridl graduated high school in 1950, and was a store buyer for Pegues and Wiley’s Department Stores.
On October 31, 1952, she married Hans Philip Schneider, in Frommern, Germany. They shared nearly 65 years of marriage, before he passed on March 16, 2017. After being in the foreign exchange student program, Fridl and Hans decided to move to Kansas in 1952.
Fridl is survived by: son, Steven Schneider (Barbara) of Hutchinson; daughter, LeeAnn Marker of Wichita; grandchildren, Loghan Currier (Dylan) of Wichita, Jake Marker (Alexa) of Wichita, Joe Redd (Nicole) of Salina, Kristal Walker (Andy) of Wichita; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Johaness Zimmerman, Jr.; and sister, Barbara Zimmerman.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Willie Zimmerman; and sister, Maria Zimmerman.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2021, at Elliott Chapel, with The Reverend Dr. Kim Biery officiating. Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
