LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas baseball senior Brady Counsell was named a finalist for the 2025 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. I Gold Glove team, the American Baseball Coaches Association announced Monday. Counsell is the first player in program history to be a finalist for the award.
Counsell is one of three third basemen that were selected as finalists, along with Murf Gray from Fresno State and Nico Senese at Georgia Southern. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, June 18 via social media by Rawlings Sporting Goods.
An All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2025, Counsell was a huge asset defensively for Kansas. Counsell posted a .992 fielding percentage by committing only one error in 121 chances. He provided versatility for the Jayhawks by starting games at third base, left field and second base. Counsell was involved in eight double plays, while having 69 putouts and 51 assists.
The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007 and are presented annually to the top defensive players from each division of collegiate and high school baseball.
