The Reno County Annex will close Friday afternoon to allow employees to attend the funeral of former Treasurer Brenda Kowitz, a longtime public servant.
The annex at 125 W. First Ave. will be closed to walk-in traffic from 11:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 26. The Register of Deeds Office, the Treasurer’s Office for tags and taxes, and the Clerk’s Office/Elections will all close during this time.
The Appraiser’s Office will remain available by phone at 620-694-2915.
“We will stop all tag and title transactions at 11:45 a.m. and resume them at 3:00 p.m.,” Treasurer Richele Calvert said in a release.
Register of Deeds Michelle Updegrove said staff appreciate the public’s understanding. “We join the community in honoring Brenda’s many years of dedicated service,” she said.
Normal business operations will resume at 3 p.m. Friday at the annex.
