

Glenn Biberstein, 89, passed away peacefully January 5, 2021, at Ascension Via Christi-St. Francis, Wichita. He was born June 8, 1931, in Anthony, to Glenn and Zenith (Stolebarger) Biberstein.
Glenn graduated from Attica High School in 1948, Southwestern College in 1957, and received his master’s in Music Education from Wichita State University.
On July 30, 1954, he married the love of his life, Patricia Herrin, in Mount Hope. They shared 66 years of marriage.
Glenn proudly served in the United States Air Force as a navigator from 1953-1956. He was a member of the Kansas Air National Guard for over 30 years, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Glenn taught vocal music for 36 years in Conway Springs, Emporia, Sherman and Liberty Junior High, and various elementary schools in Hutchinson. He was an active member at Trinity United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Doers Sunday school class, Chancel Choir, and Methodist Men. Glenn was also active in the community, serving as Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop #313, and belonging to American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, Toastmasters, and Lions Club. He was also a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels.
Above all else, Glenn loved his family with great devotion. He and Pat would travel all over Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri to attend soccer games, swim meets, tennis matches, dance recitals, concerts, or any other activity in which their children or grandchildren were involved. Family gatherings, vacations, and holidays were times Glenn always looked forward to and loved. Family was everything to him. He loved spending time together with them and would reminisce about the wonderful memories.
Glenn is survived by wife, Patricia Biberstein. Hutchinson; children, Greg (Denise) Biberstein, Manhattan, Glynda (Dan) McKenna, Hutchinson, Gary (Ali) Biberstein, Frisco, TX, and Gerry Biberstein, Hutchinson; grandchildren, Andrew (Colby) Biberstein, Houston, TX, Peter (Christina) Biberstein, Denver, CO, Maggie Biberstein, Lawrence, Megan McKenna, Galva, Kristen (Derek) Beeghly, Hutchinson, Matthew McKenna, Hutchinson, Amberly Biberstein, Batesburg, SC, Grant (Lysette) Biberstein, Austin, TX, Abby Biberstein, Stephenville, TX, Hannah Spivey, Frisco, TX, and Andrew Owens, Frisco, TX; and great-grandchildren, Bryson, Ellie, and Benjamin.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Carol McGee and Zenith Holmstrom.
Private graveside service will be Wednesday, January 13, 2021, in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with military honors conducted by McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard. A celebration of Glenn’s life will be held at a later date. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.
