HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Wesley has been recognized as a Best Nursing Home for 2026 by U.S. News & World Report, earning the publication’s highest designation for both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care.

The High Performance designation places The Wesley among fewer than 19 percent of nearly 15,000 nursing homes nationwide evaluated for the 2026 ratings. The recognition is reserved for facilities that meet U.S. News’ rigorous, data-driven standards for quality and consistency in patient and resident care.

U.S. News launched its Best Nursing Homes analysis in 2009 to help families, in consultation with health care providers, identify top-performing options for rehabilitation and long-term senior care. Facilities are evaluated on patient and resident outcomes, including hospital readmission rates, staffing levels, health inspection results and other key quality indicators.

“The Wesley is again honored to be recognized by U.S. News for excellence in senior care and services,” said Mark Mains, president and CEO of The Wesley. “We strive to create a culture that is warm and friendly for our residents while incorporating exceptional clinical oversight and assistance. The metrics reviewed by U.S. News reflect our dedication and commitment to quality at every level. Our team of extraordinary individuals in all departments creates the excellence that drives these metrics. At The Wesley, our people truly make the difference.”

For the 2026 edition, U.S. News implemented a significant methodology update, expanding both the short-term rehabilitation and long-term care ratings to include 17 distinct quality measures each. The expanded criteria are designed to provide a more comprehensive assessment of nursing home performance.

“U.S. News’ annual Best Nursing Homes ratings are designed to place the needs of patients and residents at the center of the selection process, equipping families with reliable, fact-driven metrics when making crucial care decisions,” said Ben Harder, chief of health analysis and managing editor at U.S. News. “We are proud to spotlight the nursing homes across the country that consistently demonstrate exceptional care quality and prioritize both the safety and long-term well-being of those they serve.”

The Wesley’s recognition highlights its continued commitment to quality care and services for seniors in Hutchinson and the surrounding region.
