HUTCHINSON — The Reno County housing market is trending in a positive direction this year, according to Lyle Goertzen with Align Realty in Hutchinson.
Goertzen said new figures show that housing inventory and home sales are both up compared to last year.
“Currently, we have 89 active listings in Reno County,” Goertzen said. “That’s up about 7% from the 83 we had at this time last year. Inventory is always good — it gives buyers more choices and helps keep the market moving.”

So far this year, 281 homes have sold in Reno County, up from 262 sales last year, also a 7% increase. Meanwhile, homes are selling faster. Average days on the market have dropped from 36 days in 2024 to just 31 days in 2025 — about a 14% decrease.
“It’s a good sign for sellers that things are moving,” Goertzen said. “The market is pretty healthy right now.”
The average sale price for a home in Reno County is also slightly higher. The current average is about $180,720, up about 3.5% from last year’s $174,800.
“That’s a good thing if you’re selling — prices are up, but not too high for buyers,” he said. “It’s just a nice, stable market here in Reno County.”
Homes are selling for about 97% of their list price, which shows local agents are doing a good job setting realistic prices, Goertzen noted.
