Kan. deputies arrest 2 during meth sting operation

BARTON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspect on multiple drug charges.

Just after 10 a.m. March 18, sheriff's detectives conducted a methamphetamine sting operation involving several persons in Great Bend, according to sheriff Brian Bellendir.

Deputies arrested two suspects near the intersection of 10th and Monroe and a substantial amount of meth and cash were seized. Both were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Barton County Jail.

 Jacob Vargas, 25 of Great Bend was booked on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, no drug tax stamp and an outstanding Barton County District Court warrant. nd Tanner Guyton, age 22 also of Great Bend was booked on on requested charges of distribution of methamphetamine and no drug tax stamp. Both are being held in lieu of a $300,000 bond, according to Bellendir.
