Mildred Evelyn Boswell was born March 22, 1931 to Joseph Flickner and Selma (Albrecht) Flickner. She was their first daughter and forth child of eight. She was born in Spivey, and raised in the Kingman area where she lived most of her life.
After high school, she attended Grace Bible School in Nebraska while there she had the opportunity to serve the Lord in Cuba as a missionary. God guided her return to Kansas where she worked as an aide at the State Hospital in Winfield. Her return to Kingman came a few years later when she accepted a job as a dispatcher for the city. While working for the city she attended Salt City Business College which gave her the opportunity to become the city treasure. Mildred finished her career with the city as the City Clerk. She retired from the City in 1993 to become a full-time grandma to not only her own grandchildren but also to many others in Kingman. In 2005 she became known as Jeri’s Kitchen’s Pie Lady. She lived her life serving the Lord up until God called her home on January 17th, 2022. She was surrounded by her family.
Mildred was blessed with two daughters from her first union with K.V. Wood. In 1965, she married the love of her life, Wayne J. Boswell in Kingman. With this union, she was gifted one daughter and four sons. Mildred was blessed with 19 grandkids, 40 great-grandkids, and 4 great-great-grandkids. She was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, two sisters, two brothers, one son, one grandson, one granddaughter, and other close family and friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Darlene Bradshaw Arkansas, Jerry (Dave) Andersen Kingman, Bonita Harper Hutchinson, and three sons LeRoy (Rosemary) Boswell Kingman, Lynn (Joan) Boswell Kingman, Joe (Sheri) Boswell Spivey, and one daughter in-law Margaret Boswell Wichita.
Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday, January 22nd. Friends may call Friday from 1pm-7pm with family present from 5pm- 7pm at Livingston Funeral Home. Burial will be at Walnut Cemetery.
